Work permits and rights
You have 20 hours work rights as a fulltime student and same to the dependent of bachelor degree. However, there are unlimited work hours provided to the dependents of Master degree students and to those who hold a bridging visa or a temporary resident visa. You are allowed to work fulltime during your study breaks.

Pay rates
Depending on the type of work normal pay rates are minimum from A$16.50 per hour. On weekends (normally Sunday) and the public holidays you are paid higher than weekdays and other normal days.
TFN and ABN
Tax File Number (TFN) and Australian Business Number (ABN) are the basics to be employed. Your employer will use your TFN to pay if you are working on wages or they will use your ABN if you are being hired on a contract basis. You have to obtain one before you go to find a job.
